Dear Families,
Thank you for your cooperation during last week’s early dismissal—it was a great success! We contact all families to confirm whether students will be picked up, taking the bus, or walking home.
For future early dismissals:
- Walkers and students being picked up will be dismissed at 11:25 AM
- Bus students will be picked up at 12:25 PM
We appreciate everyone who emailed or called to provide updated information—it truly helps things run smoothly!
African Heritage Month
February marks the beginning of African Heritage Month, and we are excited to celebrate and learn together as a school community. Here’s how we’ll be honoring this important month:
✅ Daily Quiz Questions – Students will learn about African Nova Scotian Trailblazers through quiz questions during announcements. The following day, we will display their pictures on our celebration wall to acknowledge their contributions.
✅ Weekly Themes – Each week will highlight different African Nova Scotian achievements:
- Week 1: Government Leaders
- Week 2: Music and Arts
- Week 3: Business Owners
- Week 4: Community Organizations
✅ Color Days on Fridays – Every Friday, students and staff will learn about the significance of African Nova Scotian colors and wear the designated color. - This Friday will be ALL Black Day.
We look forward to a month of meaningful learning and celebration!
Cozy Coat Exchange
The coat rack is located outside the office, and families can stop by during EXCEL pick-up, drop-off, or office hours (8:00 AM - 3:30 PM). If you’re unable to come in person, our Child and Youth Practitioner, Jill Flick, can assist in fitting your child with available items.
