JGES Family Forecast Feb 24-28

coins for books

Dear Families,

Since the ice storms nearly two weeks ago, our P-6 students have remained indoors during recess and lunch for safety reasons. Our pre-primary students, due to their smaller numbers, have been able to go outside in a small designated area. Unfortunately, large areas of ice around our school grounds continue to prevent outdoor play at this time. I am monitoring conditions daily and hope that the warmer weather and rain will bring improvements soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

February Assembly & Learning Highlights

Last week, we held our monthly assembly, which focused on learning from African Heritage Month. It was a special gathering, beginning with the entire school singing Lift Every Voice and Sing together. Each class then shared their learning, showcasing art, music, posters, and letters. It was heartwarming to hear students from pre-primary to Grade 6 present their reflections and projects.

We concluded the assembly by launching our Bravery focus, inspired by the Seven Sacred Indigenous Teachings. This will be our theme for the next month, guiding our learning and discussions on courage and resilience.

Take care,

John Fry- Principal
