JGES Family Forecast April 28-May2

Hello JGES Families

Last week, we held our monthly assembly focused on the Seven Sacred Teachings from the Mi'kmaq. This month, we focused on honesty. These assemblies are a regular opportunity for us to come together as a community, and it's always wonderful to see students from Primary to Grade 6 sharing their artwork, writing, ideas, singing, and speaking in front of the whole school. We are so proud of their bravery and creativity! Our next assembly will focus on the teaching of wisdom.

Spring is definitely here, and with it, some typical up-and-down weather! Please remember to send students in layers so they can stay comfortable as temperatures change throughout the day. Staff are encouraging students to dress in ways that work for the weather and their outdoor activities. A reminder that Wednesay , April 30 is a professional development day, and there will be no school for Pre-Primary to Grade 6 students.

With just 9 weeks left in the school year, regular and on-time attendance is more important than ever. We are working closely with families to support attendance through the provincial guidelines and policies. Thank you for helping your student make the most of every learning day!

Finally, a few quick reminders: please send a water bottle with your child each day, and check in to see if they are eating the hot lunch provided. We've had an increase in students visiting the office for extra food, and we want to make sure everyone is getting what they need. Thanks for your support — let's have a great week!

Take care,
Mr. Fry
