JGES Family Forecast Nov 9-13

Hello JGES Families,

With the increased Covd numbers in the Province  we will be  refocus on efforts on our covid protocols like hand washing, sanitizing, and masks for Grade ¾-6.   Families have been sharing the responsibility by keep students home if needed, and staying in contact with us.  Public health officials have been in contact with us, and we prepare to work together if there is an exposure or cases at our school.

Our measures put in place to ensure safety for students and staff are hard at times.  Wearing a mask for extended periods can be draining.  Staying in our class cohorts can trying for students.  We are working hard to support the best learning environment for all.

The school grounds have been quite muddy lately.  All students should have a change of clothes.

With Remembrance Day coming up this week, we are going to be trying something different to honour our Veterans- a virtual assembly.  We will be doing a google meet that all the classes can join.

We are having our first SAC meeting of the year on Zoom Monday night at 6:30 pm.  We still have room for 1 parent, and 2 community members.  If you are interested please let me know.

We are planning our Parent-Teacher  meetings.  Things are going to look different this year.  Teachers will be doing phone calls or Zoom calls.  Teachers will have flexibility to extend their time to meet on December 3rd, or spread the meetings to other nights around the 3rd.  Appointments will still be booked online as they have been in the past.  We’ll be sending more information soon.

Have a good week,

Mr. Fry
