Joseph Giles Elementary

Family forecast Oct 5-9

Hello JGES Familes,

Thank you for taking part in our virtual Curriculum night last week.  If you have any feedback on what worked well or you’d like to change, let me know jfry@hrce.ca .
With more rain in the forecast, please make sure your student comes ready for the weather.  We are outside for recess/lunch, and phys ed classes.  We feel it’s important to get outside to get a break from masks, and more movement for students.  A change of clothes for students in all grade levels is important.
It’s Mi’kmaw History month in October.  It’s theme is Honoring the Mi’kmaw Way.  We are doing a different Mi’kmaw word each day to celebrate the Mi’kmaw language.  Follow us on twitter to see the daily word.
This is a big month for learning at Joseph Giles.  We have settled back into school.  Families, students, and staff have September under our belts.  We are getting more comfortable with our new covid procedures.  We have specialists returning to schools.  Reading recovery is starting.  School psychologists are coming to schools.  We will be working this month on matching our students needs, and our supports as they return to schools
